Have you ever been to a haunted house, or would you ever go?
I used to live inside a real haunted house. There were a lot of eerie and scary things Trent and I experienced while living at that house. We actually lived there for years before we finally moved out. There is nothing like waking up in the middle of the night and seeing someone watch you sleep.
What’s your favorite spooky book?
I love horror novels and It’s difficult to choose just one. Since my arm was twisted to pick one, I have to say that The Mephisto Waltz by Fred Mustard Stewart is my favorite.
What’s your favorite thing about October?
October is my favorite month. The weather is unpredictable and cooler, the leaves are starting to change and fall to the ground, the sound of the crunchy leaves as you talk a walk, and it contains my favorite holiday. This is the only time of year where I can get décor for my house.
Are you a big celebrator of Halloween?
Trent and I love Halloween. We would decorate the house and dress up to hand out Halloween candy. His band even played at a zombie prom. So I think that the answer to this one is super obvious.
What’s your favorite horror movie?
Haha! Okay, for whoever knows me, knows that I have an obsession with a certain clown. A certain clown played by Bill Skarsgård. My favorite horror movie is IT (2017)
Would you rather a cozy night in watching horror movies or a big night out in a costume?
My current answer would be a cozy night in watching horror movies. But ask me when things go back to normal and my answer will probably be different.
Which has been your favorite costume to date?
Since I moved to IL, I think I have to go with being a serial killer murder victim. It didn’t take much to get the costume together but I was covered in fake blood and had to act dead while laying on the front porch. It was fun. There may be pictures of this floating around somewhere.
Bobbing for apples or pin the hat on the Witch?
Bobbing for apples has always grossed me out. There’s something about sticking your face in a bucket where a lot of other faces have been to pick out an apple that other people could of had in their mouths. Eww. Pin the hat on the Witch all the way!!
How do you celebrate Halloween?
The past couple of years my job has participated in Trunk r’ Treat on Halloween but it was canceled this year. We would have kid-friendly Halloween inspirited games, book and candy giveaways, and even created a haunted house inside the Library.
What’s your least favorite horror movie/show?
This is a very huge unpopular opinion but I didn’t enjoy The Haunting of Hill House as much as everyone else did. It didn’t capture my attention but I do want to read the book.
Do you have a favorite trick or treating memory?
I actually don’t. When I think of Trick or Treating, I’ll always remember me being in fifth grade and hearing about my Dad being in a motorcycle accident. Even though I’ve had loads of fantastic memories of other Halloween days, this is the one that always comes to mind.
What’s your favorite thing about Halloween?
I love how people come together to hand out candy and dress up. Plus all the spirits lurking come out to play. It’s a day for the alive and the dead.
Do you carve pumpkins?
This may come as a surprise to you but I’ve only ever carved a pumpkin once in my life. I carved one for work one year and it was a lot of fun. I’m not sure why I haven’t carved any since.
