My Review

RWRB was a book that I easily fell in love with. The characters were absolutely adorable and Alex and Henry both won me over instantly. So I was expecting that magical feeling with this one. To say that my expectations were high is the understatement of the year. They were so high up that I was above the clouds but after reading this, I fell back down to Earth fast.

This started off really strong and I found myself not wanting to put this down. Then it got really repetitive and I started to lose interest. I felt as if I was traveling in this continuous circle that never ended. Instead of this feeling like a book that I chose to read myself, it felt like forced reading and I’m not okay with that. It got to the point where I really didn’t care how this ended.

Jane and August had some really intense cute and steamy moments. Their whirlwind romance (I guess we can call it that) was hit and miss for me. It kind of didn’t make sense to me. Jane was a very likable character with her leather jacket and her love of awesome music but there was something about August that got on my nerves. She wasn’t level-headed like everyone else and acted a tad bit spoiled. August’s roommates though were amazing. I enjoyed their wittiness and how they weren’t afraid to be themselves.

Some parts were fantastic and other parts bored me. I really found myself loving the history and the story that surrounded Billy’s Pancake restaurant. It was interesting to read all about that place and the spirit that it had in the community. I also loved the fact that this took place in NY and on the train. There’s nothing more magical than that. When things slowed down, they slowed down at a snail’s pace and I would find myself losing interest in the story. There was nothing to grasp onto when things slowed down and it left me bored.

One Last Stop was an okay read but I will admit that I was highly disappointed. I needed more there to keep me interested. The ending didn’t surprise me and I was hoping for something else to happen but it ended exactly how you want it to. Casey’s books are ones that I’ll still read but this one is a no for me.
