About CLOSER:

From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Kylie Scott comes a new story in her Stage Dive series…

When a stalker gets too close to plus-size model Mae Cooper, it’s time to hire some muscle.

Enter former military man turned executive protection officer Ziggy Thayer. Having spent years guarding billionaires, royalty, and rock n roll greats, he’s seen it all. From lavish parties through to every kind of excess.

There’s no reason some Instagram stylista should throw him off his game. Even if she does have the most dangerous curves he’s ever seen…

**Every 1001 Dark Nights novella is a standalone story. For new readers, it’s an introduction to an author’s world. And for fans, it’s a bonus book in the author’s series. We hope you’ll enjoy each one as much as we do.**

Excerpt:

I’d had bodyguards before. But only for events like fashion week or a big shoot. Just for a limited amount of time. My contract with Ziggy, however, was open ended, dependent on the heart in the box situation. Once he’d grilled me about what the police were doing (investigating my entire life), my routine (I don’t really have one. It’s consumed by work), and my calendar for the next few days (I’d freed up time to finish unpacking and then back to work on my lingerie line), he drove me to the gym. There was one I used a couple of times in the apartment building, but I generally do better with some active encouragement and guidance.

Guess Ziggy approved of my Land Rover because he gave it another one of those almost-smiles. I, however, continued to receive the full professional cold front face. This was definitely going to take some getting used to.

“Who’s your shadow?” asked Kwana, my awesome trainer.

I paused mid-lunge, my breath coming hard and fast. “My bodyguard, Ziggy. You like him?”

“He’s pretty. Don’t stop, keep moving.”

“Yeah, yeah.”

“You don’t usually have one of them around. Have you been getting hassled or something?”

Kwana stood with her arms crossed, all lean muscles beneath brown skin. Since we were in an open area at the end of the main part of the gym, Ziggy waited over by the wall, just out of earshot. He stood with his arms loose at his side, his gaze constantly wandering a circuit from me—around the room, over to the exits, and back again. Always on alert.

“More a precaution than anything,” I said.

No matter how much I liked Kwana, no one outside my inner circle needed to know about the incident. The fewer people who found out about the gross cow heart and knife the better.

There’d been no further news from the police. Though it was never likely they’d track down a suspect and charge that person the next day.

Case closed, hooray!

Play- Kylie Scott

“He was, without a doubt, the most beautiful man I’d ever seen. The elegant lines of his face made me want to write bad poetry. And the sound of his voice, his words, they were all so perfect and good. But then my insides tightened, and there was nothing there to hold on to. I was so horribly empty I ached.”

I’m completely addicted to this series. There’s a depth to these stories that hit every angle and it leaves you wanting more.

We have all been in Anne’s shoes. We love a band so much that we plaster their posters on our wall, dream of taking one of their last names, and living that fairy tale rock star life.

But Anne’s dreams become reality when the drummer for Stage Dive makes her an offer that sweeps her off of her feet. Situations in books like these always come with deep emotional consequences. Can Anne survive the storm?

Sometimes Mal’s sense of humor was over the top and eye roll worthy. (I should know since I’m a pro) (Ask my husband) It was like he tried too hard to prove something but I wasn’t ever sure what. Anne even annoyed me a bit too. I’m not sure anyone would be okay with a strange man lying to get into your apartment. But those are such minor flaws.

Play is a story that you can lose yourself in. The characters interact well with one another and the sass that radiates off of them brings the story to life. This was a deeply naughty, emotional romp and you know that these stories are only going to get better.

My suggestion is that you buckle up because you’re in for a hell of a ride.

Lick- Kylie Scott

“You are so damn pretty, he breathed. Every piece of you. And when I dared you to put aside your plan and run away with me, you said yes.”

Talk about the dream fantasy of any fan girl who is obsessed with any kind of celebrity. Be it an actor or a musician. We all had these type of dreams, picturing yourself in the arms of the beautiful and wealthy and then the real world comes crashing down.
And it doesn’t hurt to take yourself out of reality.

What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas is a good motto to go by or so we thought.
Waking up in a motel bathroom in Vegas shows that you had the best time celebrating your birthday. And then things come into focus. A gorgeous man helping you recover and a huge rock of a ring on your finger. And then maybe instant regret. Not remembering an once of what occurred, she slowly puts the pieces together with help from this mysterious gentleman.
Finding her best friend, they leave to go home to Seattle. The paparazzi are everywhere asking questions and taking pictures. Coming to the realization that she married a rock star god. Her life is now hectic.
David is the guitarist to the hottest band in the world right now and he instantly fell for Evelyn when she put some of his ignorant friends in place.
Wanting this marriage to end, Eve wants this settled sooner rather than later. With terms, conditions, and a huge payment, Eve realizes that this isn’t what she wants. She decides to think things over and spend quite the weekend with her new husband.
Coming to terms with the marriage and falling in love. They decide to give this thing a shot. Can true love survive after a drunken night in Vegas?
Love is never easy, especially when you are surrounded by the media. They can twist and turn every little detail into something devastating.
Lick was one hell of a mesmerizing story and one that can only happen in a book. I think that’s why I held my rating back a bit. I loved the story and the characters were instantly love worthy. The story was a bit too far fetched, but if it gets a girl dreaming…. then you did your job. Simply amazing.

So if anyone can send me book two I would be forever grateful.

“Sex was so messy. Love was far and away worse.”
