Book crush Thursday

Book crush Thursday is a day you post some of your fav covers or covers you think deserve some more attention. And this one might of just popped up just yesterday but I love it to no end.

The blood spell by CJ redwine

The reason I love this so much is a few reasons. 1 there is a pumpkin on the cover and I love fall and such and not many covers have pumpkins on them.

2. The snowy color look in the back ground. One of few things I love more than pumpkins and fall is snow and winter I count down the whole year just for winter to start.

3. This book is a Cinderella retelling my fav of old grim brother tellings so I’m excited see how Cinderella is made in this book.

The blood spell cover reveal

Cj redwines 5th book in the ravenspire series (each stand alone) has been released and can’t wait for this. I love Cinderella retelling sooo I’m stoked that a author i really like is doing her take on the retelling who has done 4 others so far.

And look at it!!! Pumpkin 😍😍 winter colors im in god dam heaven :). 😍😍❄️

Good reads Monday

It’s Monday so know what that means? It’s good reads Monday which say a book that’s been in your tbr pile for so long but haven’t read it that deserves some attention.

This week it’s a side series. The main story is called the chronicals of Vladimir Todd. But this title is called

Which is the 3rd book in the series and forget if last one or not. But Iv enjoyed vlad so much and enjoyed first 2 in this series unsure why never went back. But Vladimir was under the radar middle grade that needs still be read.

*ARC REVIEW*The kiss quotient by Helen Hoang

I was able to read this book early in thanks to the first to read program by Penguin.

Going into this book, I already know I’m in a book slump. Lately, I haven’t read many books that I enjoyed. But this book helped me out.

It’s about a woman, Stella Lane who is near 30, has a steady job and has her own place. I think all is good but only down fall she has no boyfriend or had one and her family is asking for grand kids. Only issue though is she doesn’t like sex like at all, she doesn’t enjoy it and she thinks it shows. Other she is not afraid to tell people but doesn’t want to be treated differently since she has Aspergers. So to get better at sec life so can appease a guy she hires a escort to teach her how to get better. This is where Micheal Phan comes in who is half Vietnamese half Swedish. This story is told in both perspectives which I always love more than one side. But slowly thru the story he helps her in her own ways to learn. But like any friends with benifts or this case paid feelings get involved. But what is nice besides the love interest mike helps Stella see more of the world and get out of her routine she has since all she wants to do is work and sleep pretty much. Though some of these can be distraous I can say from first hand from being special ed like myself to my friends who have aspergers to many things at once or to loud can lead to huge melt down. One person needs to have a support system so thru this cute story you learn their story & to those that don’t help the case. So a cute little story I enjoyed for a debut novel from Helen that I loved and is 5/5 stars from me.

Good reads Monday

Today is good reads Monday which means you post about a book that has been on your to read like that you haven’t read but deserves to get some attention and my book today is

I was super excited for another book by Nicola upon who I have many times before thru past few years after reading everything everything. I’m shocked I did never in the end pick it up but I know where it’s on my shelf soo I’ll proubly read it soon since I’m itching to read a contemporary book again. And if not you should fully read everything everything!!!

*Arc Review* My Plain Jane- Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton, and Jodi Meadows

Release date: June 26th

Publishing house: Harper Teen

Genre: Fantasy

I enjoyed book one, so I already had high hopes for book two.  Which, they each can be read as a stand-alone. And it does not fail.

I’ve read one review where they compared it to the Ghostbusters and a retelling of Jane Eyre, which I have never read before.

But here is what this book is about. Jane Eyre can see ghosts after having a shoddy childhood as she was stuck in an orphanage. Until one day she finds an opening for a governess. But before she goes, there is a murder at her orphanage and the group called the society is coming to investigate. There’s a ghost at a local bar and they plan on getting answers.  At this time a lady going to a bar without being accompanied was very unlady like unless she was a lady of the night.

I won’t say more but this book wasn’t as funny as the first but I enjoyed this storyline a lot more. It seemed to have a cuter romance to it especially for two characters. And the pleasant thing about these stories is that each author takes a character. So there’s not more than one mindset to so some characters and they don’t get all the spotlight.

These authors really know how to mix the fantasy of the ghost world to mixing it with that day and age. At how little Gents and women chatted with one another and how some of things they did was extremely risky. Especially with a woman showing her bare leg. And what’s nice about books in the series is that the writing is not to the same style of the times. If it was I’d say for us normal readers it would hard to read old English writing which we read Beowulf or Canterbury Tales. So overall this book was amazing and I didn’t want it to end. It was one of my higher fantasy books that I’ve read this year and will be a favorite for the year.

5/5 stars
