Title: Crown of Oblivion

Author: Julie Eshbaugh

Publisher: HarperTeen

Release Date: November 12, 2019

Page Count: 480 pages

Genres: Young Adult, Fantasy

Summary:

Astrid is the surrogate for Princess Renya, which means she bears the physical punishment if Renya steps out of line. Astrid has no choice—she and her family are Outsiders, the lower class of people without magic and without citizenship.

But there is a way out of this life—competing in the deadly Race of Oblivion. To enter the race, an Outsider is administered the drug Oblivion, which wipes their memory clear of their past as they enter a new world with nothing to help them but a slip of paper bearing their name and the first clue. It’s not as simple as solving a puzzle, however—for a majority of the contestants, the race ends in death. But winning would mean not only freedom for Astrid, but citizenship and health care for her entire family. With a dying father to think of, Astrid is desperate to prevail.

From the beginning, the race is filled with twists and turns. One of them is Darius, a fellow racer Astrid meets but isn’t sure she can trust. Though they team up in the race, as Astrid’s memories begin to resurface, she remembers just who he was to her—a scorned foe who may want revenge. Astrid also starts to notice she has powers no Outsider should—which could help her win the race, but also make her a target if anyone finds out. With stakes that couldn’t be higher, Astrid must decide what is more important: risking her life to remember the mysteries of the past, or playing a cutthroat game in order to win her—and her family’s—freedom.

1. What I am currently reading is?? It’s a few for this week but

Which saw was 2.99 and my friends liked the author so figured give a chance

For my physical book it’s

Since I really need a light fluffy read today.

Last it’s empire of storms which after this I haven’t read on. But the series is fabulous plus love elides and Manson’s povs soooo much.

2. What I recently finished was the wilder girls which was a library rental and book had a chance to have a good plot but fell short with so many things unanswered and could of been excellent since great idea and weird and gruesome but was a 3/5 stars

3.What I plan to read next is tower of dawn and ebook would be

Which book sounded interesting enough when a girl to be married loses her engagement ring and her cell is stolen but finds a phone in garbage and the guy wants it back so sounds could be funny.

WWW Wednesday

It’s that time of the week again Wednesday which means WWW. What does that mean you say well it means the 3 w’s. What are you currently reading? What did you finish recently and what do you plan to read next?

1. What I’m currently reading is empire of storms by Sarah j Maas and loving you and hating you by Christina lauren

Empire of storms is a re read and love this series and starts where cast left off from last book I won’t say more so don’t spoil but only thing can say the ending is fudging cliff hangy as hell. And thank the stars I don’t get book hangovers.

2. What I recently finished was queen of shadows and happy finally a ending more happy of sorts and not cliffy at all. and other finished was serpent and dove and oh my stars that book was amazing!!! I don’t know how many times I was laughing up a storm and when action dulls the romance blossoms up a storm. Probably will go down as fav fantasy read for this year.

3. What I plan to read next is frankly in love to stay on contemporary binge. And high hopes for.

WWW Wednesday 5-15-19

It’s Wednesday so you know what that means its WWW. Which ask the 3 w questions. What are you currently reading?

What you recently finish? and what will you be reading next?

1. What I’m currently reading is mosh pit of books but the iron flower

And I’m sorta here and their reading fifty shades of grey again on and off.

2. What did I recently finish?? The books I recently finished was alex van helsing vampire hunter book 1. Which is a small MG book which a kid gets static feeling when evil is near by like vampires. And great read right around Halloween and stories that involve sorta like Frankenstein.5/5 stars

Other I finished which I loved and always will is heir of fire by Sarah J Maas which is the 3rd book in the series and learning who characters are some new, honing powers and which characters will take sides and such. Throne of glass is well worth the huge risk to read its soooo good!!

3. What do I plan to read next is probably a touch of gold by Annie suillivan

Have you read any of these? And what’s your thoughts?

WWW Wednesday is a meme hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of Words and was formerly hosted by A Daily Rhythm. It is open for anyone to participate, even without a blog you can comment on Sam’s post with your own answers. It is a great way to share what you’ve been reading! All you have to do is answer three questions and share a link to your blog in the comments section of Sam’s blog.

The three Ws are:

What are you currently reading?

What did you recently finish reading?

What do you think you’ll read next?

What am I currently reading?

Finale by Stephanie Garber. This book is just everything I hoped it would be and more, and I’m only half way through. Stephanie’s world means so much to me and I’m sad to see it come to an end. But so far, Finale is a whirlwind of magic and romance and intrigue and I’m anticipating the second half will be too. If you have yet to read Caraval by Stephanie Garber, I highly recommend. And if you would like to see what I thought about Caraval during my reread, check out my review.

Kingsbane by Claire Legrand. I thought Furyborn was fantastic. But Kingsbane is blowing me away. This book is really giving me all the feels; I love the characterization of Rielle and Eliana. Kingsbane really explores both of their roots and who they are becoming and it is just. SO. GOOD. Kingsbane surpasses Furyborn, in my opinion; I still have about 100 pages left, but this book is destroying me and it’s beautiful.

What did I recently finish reading?

Legendary by Stephanie Garber. This was actually a reread, as I was participating in Flatiron’s Caraval reread. Legendary was just as magical as Caraval, if not more. I love Tella in this book and the new setting is just breathtaking. Finishing Legendary put me in the right mood to jump straight into Finale.

Descendant of the Crane by Joan He. Y’all. This book was everything. There was politics, murder, betrayal, a slow-burning romance, and more. If I could, I’d drop Descendant of the Crane in everyone’s’ hands because this book is just wonderful. The twists, the political intrigue…everything was just amazing in this book. I very much recommend, and my review of this book (and Legendary) will be available very soon.

What do I plan on reading next?

Dark Shores

Dark Shores by Danielle L. Jensen sounds like a book right up my alley! Pirates, gods, and blackmail? Plus a good looking soldier? Count me in! The cover is absolutely GORGEOUS, so I cannot wait to devour this book! I’ll literally read any book about pirates, and I already know this book is going to be sooooo good!

WWW Wednesday 12-19-18

Today is Wednesday you know what that means it’s waiting on Wednesday the day which has 3 w’s. What are you currently reading? What did you just recently finish? And what do you plan to read next.

1. What I’m currently reading is Ash princess which I’m 31% done and I’m really enjoying the book and it’s a slow burn and I still haven’t fully figured who her love interest will be. And other is I just started the cerulean with my friend.

2. What I recently finished is the real deal by Lauren blakely and boy did I love that book. From the get go the flirting and the chemistry between the 2 mc’s was spot on. The switching between pov of the characters was great I love books with 2 minds. 5/5

What I also finished besides the real deal was princess and the fan girl by Ashley poston which I have a blog review on. But 4/5 stars.

3. What I plan to read next?

If didn’t have another buddy read I’d proubly be dropping all books to read snow in love since It has kasie west in it. Which she has become a Insta but like a lot of people do for her and crazy how fast she can dish out books.

So what are some books upcoming in your TBR maybe might be one I have never heard of?

*Waiting on Wednesday*

The book that I can’t wait for is Stolen Time by Danielle Rollins. My Co-Blogger, JT picked me up a copy from NYCC and I can’t wait to read it when it arrives at my house. I’m still super stoked about it!!

Danielle Rollins is one of my favorite authors and she writes under a few different names, Ellie Rollins and Danielle Vega. If you haven’t done so, I suggest you check out her Merciless series. They are creepy and I love it!

Enjoy!!

35053301  Seattle, 1913 // Dorothy is trapped. Forced into an engagement to a wealthy man just so she and her mother can live comfortably for the rest of their days, she’ll do anything to escape. Including sneaking away from her wedding and bolting into the woods to disappear.

New Seattle, 2077 // Ash is on a mission. Rescue the professor—his mentor who figured out the secret to time travel—so together they can put things right in their devastated city. But searching for one man means endless jumps through time with no guarantee of success.

When Dorothy collides with Ash, she sees it as her chance to start fresh—she’ll stow away in his plane and begin a new life wherever they land. Then she wakes up in a future that’s been ripped apart by earthquakes and floods; where vicious gangs rule the submerged city streets and a small group of intrepid travelers from across time are fighting against the odds to return things to normal. What Dorothy doesn’t know is that she could hold the key to unraveling the past—and her arrival may spell Ash’s ultimate destruction.
