JLA is back with her third installment in the Origin Series set in the Lux Universe. The Burning Shadow ended with a huge bombshell revelation that left us all shocked. Only the evil mistress known as JLA could end a book that way. We demanded answers and went kind of crazy waiting for them.
The Brightest Night picks up right where The Burning Shadow left off. Evie and Luc learning this jaw-dropping truth of a hidden secret. Something they thought couldn’t even be true, actually is. It left us all with wide-eyes with our mouths hanging open with disbelief. Slowly answers come to the surface and they will astonish you.
If you think things couldn’t get more shocking than think again. It starts off with quite the surprise and this ends with an even bigger soul crushing twist. I didn’t see it coming and now I’m freaking out. I don’t even know what to do with myself after completing this book. My heart is racing just thinking about it.
Throughout the entire book you instantly and continuously connect with all of the characters. Luc and Evie are two characters that work well together and separately. They draw the reader deeper into the story and make it that much more stronger.
The Brightest Night was a fantastic installment into this series. It wasn’t as action packed as the first two but a lot of questions have been answered while leaving you with more burning questions. JLA is a phenomenal storyteller and knows how to put out books of pure perfection. Don’t hesitate with this series because every single page is worth it!
