A Couple of B’s Questions for Me:

If you could swap places with any character, who would you pick?

This is a super easy one for me. I would love to trade places with Jude Duarte from The Cruel Prince, Wicked King, and The Queen of Nothing books. She gets to be with King Cardan! Cardan! Have you seen him? Have you seen his tail? That’s all I have to say….

On average, how many books do you read and review a month?

Okay, wow. I never really thought about how much I read per month but it’s a lot. More than I thought it was going to be. I read between 3-4 books per week. So I read between 15-20 books per month and sometimes it’s more than that.

What advice would you give to a new book reviewer?

I would tell them to read what brings them the most joy and they don’t have to read what everyone else is reading. We all have different tastes and to never be embarrassed about what they love. And my number one rule for blogging/reviewing is to have fun. If you aren’t having fun, is it even worth it?

What is a book you own but you hate the cover of?

There are so many ugly book covers from when I was younger but I think my choice would have to be the US cover for Anna Dressed in Blood. I just don’t like it at all. Bleh!

What is one book that you will always recommend?

The one book that I’ll always talk about but shouldn’t is Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk. I fell in love with the movie before the book and now I’m obsessed with both.

What are the last two books you gave a 5 star rating and why?

Kingdom of the Wicked by Kerri Maniscalco. I instantly fell in love with the atmosphere and characters. The story was on that gripped onto me early and never let go.

Horrid by Katrina Leno. It was spooky and dealt with a haunted house. Two things that I love!

Who is your favorite author?

My favorite author is Chuck Palahniuk. I adore everything he writes and he’s never one to shy away from anything. Nothing is ever off limits with him and I love it. He’s raw and gritty.

Kayla has issues with Y.A. literature. What book would you recommend to make her change her mind about the genre?

I would recommend authors that write for different genres.  V.E. Schwab, Jay Kristoff, James Patterson, and there are a ton more that branch off from adult and into Y.A. Literature. Even though it’s Y.A., they bring certain adult elements to their books that other y.a. authors do.

What is your favorite book series?

I know Nikole and I agree with this one. It’s Caraval! Nothing or no one is going to change our minds. We go swept into the game that is Caraval and we have never left!

How do you get out of a reading slump?

Okay, this is going to sound really weird but I’ll read a steamy romance to get myself out of a slump. I have no idea why this works for me but it does. It’s so weird.

Be honest, what is one book you purchased just because of the cover?

This was really recently and I read it last week. The cover is absolutely gorgeous and I loved the story as well 🙂

I nominate anyone who loves blogging and enjoys answering questions about themselves and books.

My questions are:

  1. If you could swap places with any character, who would you pick?
  2. On average, how many books do you read and review a month?
  3. What advice would you give to a new book reviewer?
  4. What is a book you own but you hate the cover of?
  5. What is one book you will always recommend?
  6. What are the last two books you gave a 5 star rating and why?
  7. Who is your favorite author?
  8. What books would you recommend a reader who claims to not like Y.A. Literature?
  9. What is your favorite book series?
  10. How do you get out of a reading slump?
  11. Be honest, what is one book you purchased just because of the cover?

Thank you so much for nominating me for this award. It was a lot of fun to answer all of these questions!

There is nothing better than a great cup of coffee and an even better book.

  1. First of all, 15-20 books a month!? That is amazing! I’m so impressed, and a little jealous, TBH.

Also, great advice on read what brings you joy. When I first started this blog, I tried reading all the “hyped” novels because I thought that’s what book bloggers had to do. Those hyped books are still sitting on my shelves right now—completely unread.

I’ll be adding Kingdom of the Wicked and Horrid to my TBR now, and Kayla will definitely look into the authors you mentioned. Thank you so much for your answers!

    1. I couldn’t believe how much I read per month when I actually thought about it. My husband was sure that it would be a lot more lol

And I thought that as well with the very popular book releases. But then I found out that they didn’t bring me much joy, so I read what I love and ones that made me passionate to discuss and review. It has worked so much better for me and I’m sure other reviewers feel the same way.

Omg! I hope you enjoy those two books. I love the darker side of YA literature and those two definitely deliver.

Thank you so much for nominating me 😊
