SYNOPSIS

XOXOCello prodigy Jenny has one goal: to get into a prestigious music conservatory. When she meets mysterious, handsome Jaewoo in her uncle’s Los Angeles karaoke bar, it’s clear he’s the kind of boy who would uproot her careful plans. But in a moment of spontaneity, she allows him to pull her out of her comfort zone for one unforgettable night of adventure…before he disappears without a word.

Three months later, when Jenny and her mother arrive in South Korea to take care of her ailing grandmother, she’s shocked to discover that Jaewoo is a student at the same elite arts academy where she’s enrolled for the semester. And he’s not just any student. He’s a member of one of the biggest K-pop bands in the world—and he’s strictly forbidden from dating.

When a relationship means throwing Jenny’s life off the path she’s spent years mapping out, she’ll have to decide once and for all just how much she’s willing to risk for love.

My Review

“People do strange things to protect their hearts. But when you’re afraid, your heart is closed, and it’s never the right time, but when your heart is open, and you’re willing to be brave enough to take a chance, the time is always right.”

I’m not going to lie, I know absolutely nothing about K-Pop, being an Idol, or much about Korean culture nor the country. Going to Korea is definitely on my travel bucket list. It just looks like a beautiful and peaceful area to visit.

With this book, I was hoping to educate myself on things I didn’t know about and to embrace myself in a story of chasing your dreams while falling in love. I’ve experienced all of that and so much more. This book was the cutest thing ever and it showed me a whole new world that I’ve never personally experienced before.

Jenny and Jaewoo were the best two characters that I have ever come across. They were both selfless, heavily family-oriented, and just full of so much fun and energy. And together they were the couple we all dream about being a part of one day. I don’t want to sound like a creep but Jaewoo was totally adorable and definitely swoon-worthy.

XOXO was the K-Drama we all needed in our lives and we demand more of this. It was full of heart, lots of love, and gushiness overload. If you’re looking for something to make you feel all giddy and warm inside, then look no further because this will hit everyone one of those and put you in a better mood. *Sigh* I need more books like this in my life!!
