Last year, I gave you the list of my favorite reads of 2018 and now we are getting down to the absolute worst. I know a lot of these books will shock people but I guess that’s what I do. Very unpopular opinions are on the way!
Which books made your disappoint list of 2018?
The Hazel Wood disappointed me as well! I wasn’t a fan of the way it was told or the main character. Glad I’m not alone on that. Great post 🙂

Glad I’m not alone. A lot of people seemed to love it next yer. I have a hard time with unlikable characters most of the time.

I won’t read The Hazel Wood even though I own it because everyone has talked about how much they didn’t like.
I keep hearing how disappointed people were with Escaping From Houdini, which is such a shame. I only picked it up because it was on sale at Barnes and Noble. I will be adjusting my expectations accordingly!

I still gotta do Houdini. But funny from my book friends they all loved Houdini. ~~~Justin

I had The Hazel Wood on my list as well. It just doesn’t seem to have clicked with a lot of people!

It was one of those books that they hyped up and it didn’t live up to it. I still think the cover is beautiful though.

Yes, the cover is good. Both British and American. I liked the fairy tales as well, but the rest was disappointing

I’ll always be a sucker for a gorgeous cover but I think that author should leave the classics to the professionals.

I enjoyed Escaping from Houdini. I just finished it a couple days ago and although I understand why people didn’t like it I thought there were good reasons as to why it went the way it did.

I will say that it was a lot better than the first two but they just aren’t for me. I think I know too much about Jack the Ripper, Dracula, and Houdini to enjoy those titles.

It happens! I love seeing others opinions on books because we all rate differently. 😊

I do as well. It’s fun to see other peoples interpretations of books because they are usually different.

I’ve been hearing a LOT of people disappointed with Escaping from Houdini, which is sad.
What made you add ACOMAF to this list?

ACOMAF was really slow for me. ACOTAR blew me away and I couldn’t get enough and ACOMAF didn’t hit that expecatation level that the first one did. I’m not saying that I hated it but it was disappointing to me.

I also disliked Maas’ books last year. You’re not alone in this world

The Hazel Wood was certainly disappointing. I really didn’t like the ending and it felt like the moment we get to the “land of stories” everything was rushed 😕

I think we all had our hopes up with that one because of all the hype that lead up to it.
I fully agree. Nothing was paced evenly and it abruptly ended.

I just finished Hunting Prince Dracula and it was disappointing, like the first book. In 2018 I was disappointed by I, Lucifer, probably the worst book ever.

I’m glad that I’m not the only person disappointed by that book. There was nothing really there to like.
